Domestic Alarm Systems and Cctv Security

There are two types of domestic alarm systems and they are the hard-wired alarm system and the wireless alarm system. Between these two alarm systems, the wireless is easier to install as a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) task. This is because the hard-wired system involves more work, demanding adequate knowledge and experience of electrical wiring for anybody to accomplish this task.

This, however, is not the case with a wireless alarm system, which can be installed by almost anybody. One major difference between the two is the absence of cables, channeling of walls and what have you. So how then do you carry out a wireless alarm system at your home?

The first thing to do when installing wireless domestic alarm systems is to plan. This can be accomplished with the aid of a paper and pencil. On the paper draw up a floor layout plan of your home identifying positions or places where you would like to have protection. These points once decided to be strategic to the protection of your home will be where the wireless sensors (their job is to identify the presence of any intruder) are going to be placed. You will also need to determine the best place to put the main control box.

This is ideally kept as close as possible to the main access or exit points of your home so you can easily switch it on or off when you want to. However, this is not required by most wireless domestic alarm systems as they come with wireless key fobs, which will allow you to remotely switch on and off this device.

After carrying out the aforementioned, the bell box can be installed if you need one, ensuring that it is placed in a discreet location where intruders can't easily find and get to them. Next will be to equip your windows and external doors with wireless sensors so they can trigger off an alarm when tampered with by an invader.

Then you can conclude this exercise at this point with placing your internal sensors at the different strategic locations you have identified in your plan. To do a good job of detecting human movement you will need a PIR movement detector; which is one of the best wireless detectors. This detector can be easily screwed to the wall of your preferred location. You can complement your home alarm system with a CCTV security system otherwise known as close circuit television system.

Now the CCTV security system can also be connected in two ways; which is wireless and fixed cable connection. This system basically is made up of CCTV cameras, cables if you are using fixed cable connection, Recorder (DVR or VCR) and a Monitor.

Benefits of having CCTV security system in your home includes deterring invaders when they see it, monitoring and recording footages on your property and knowing when any family member needs your assistance or help. While one major benefit of wireless domestic alarm systems is that they are flexible since you can easily remove them when you change residence unlike fixed cable alarm systems.
